UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
At B COOL we have four different goals in mind in our day-to-day work. This integration ensures the utilization of globally recognized targets to tackle some of the most urgent global challenges. We firmly believe that this approach is not only responsible and ethical but also strategic, as it helps mitigate risks and fosters the creation of long-term value.
7: Affordable and clean energy
UN’s seventh goal is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.
At B COOL we have launched a CO₂ -based cooling system that improves the energy efficiency and the COP with up to 20% for our clients compared to their conventional systems.
For a specific project for an onboard marine provision store, where the refrigeration plant was using a synthetic refrigerant, HFC/R134a, the provision plant was retrofitted to a CO₂ refrigeration plant and the efficiency was improved by 40%.
Moreover, we have installed electric vehicle charging stations so that the employees can charge their electric cars at work.
12: Responsible consumption and production
This goal is to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
At B COOL we aim to prolong the lifespan of technical equipment for clients by repairing, servicing, maintaining, and providing spare sparts, instead of exchanging to new.
13: Climate action
The thirteenth goal is to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impact.
At B COOL we are advertising for our CO2-based cooling system that replaces harmful HFC refrigerants by using a natural refrigerant instead. The CO₂ equivalent of HFC’s, commonly used refrigerants, is ranging from 1.400 to 3.900 compared to using CO₂ as refrigerant.
This means that one kilogram of HFC’s contributes 1.400 to 3,900 times as much to the greenhouse effect as one kilogram of CO₂.
17: Partnerships for the goals
The seventeenth goal is to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for sustainable development.
At B COOL we have partnered with technicians all over the world to minimize the need for transport.
E.g instead of are flying from Denmark to Santos in Brazil for providing a service, we use our local partner instead. This gives our customers a CO2 saving of; 10,400 km x 0.15 kg CO2 (average pr. km) = 1,560 kg CO2.
Moreover, we have partnered with Det Grønne Akademi (The Green Academy) to improve our strategic wort with sustainability.
